Senior Software Engineer

Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join Procore’s  Data Mesh Division. In this role, you’ll help build Procore’s next-generation construction data platform for others to build upon, including Procore developers, analysts, partners, and customers.

As a  Senior Software Engineer, you’ll partner with other engineers and product managers across Product & Technology to develop data infrastructures that adhere to the highest security standards that power the applications in Procore. To be successful in this role, you’re passionate about cloud-based infrastructure and have hands-on experience building scalable and reliable data infrastructure. This position reports to Manager, Streaming & Lakehouse and will be based in our Bangalore location We’re looking for someone to join us immediately.

What you’ll do: 

• Support engineering teams to build data pipelines using technologies Kafka, Flink, Spark, Kubernetes, and Databricks in AWS 
• As a Kafka expert, you will be responsible for Kafka cluster deployment, Kafka Connect, configuration, monitoring, security, and troubleshooting. 
• Databricks Platform Administration – Deploy, configure, and maintain Databricks workspaces. Monitor and manage cluster performance, resource utilization, platform costs, and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance
• Automate administration tasks using Ansible, Terraform, or shell scripting
• Enable developers to quickly and effectively build and operate their software at scale by providing self-service data infrastructure capabilities

 What we’re looking for: 

• 5+ years of solid understanding and implementation of  streaming (Kafka, Flink), batch (Spark) technologies at scale, and Databricks
• 5+ years of experience building and operating cloud-based, highly available, and scalable data platforms supporting large amounts of data at enterprise-grade companies serving millions of users
• Experience with Continuous Integration and Deployment Tooling (CircleCI, Github, ArgoCD)
• Experience and proficiency in managing infrastructure as code, such as Terraform 
• Experience with AWS (RDS, EC2, S3, IAM, etc.) 
• Experience with Kubernetes & Container-based hosting strategies 
• Strong passion for learning, always open to new technologies and ideas
