Staff Software Engineer, Fullstack

As a Staff Software Engineer, Full-Stack at Procore, you’re given the unique opportunity to partner intimately with our customer base, translating their fundamental needs into technological SaaS solutions. Backed by the might of our teams, we’ll provide you with the tools and resources needed to achieve extraordinary results that render a significant impact extending beyond the boundaries of traditional engineering roles. This position will report into the Senior Engineering Manager for the Workforce Tracking group in the Resource Management division.

What you’ll do:

• Evolve our team's existing codebase into a modular system with clear, well enforced domain boundaries and a coherent public interface

• Contribute to designing and building a system that is aligned with Procore’s technical vision of a service-oriented architecture

• Work within our Rails backend to enhance performance, flexibility, scalability, and security. Work with TypeScript and React to create consistent and intuitive user experiences on the frontend

• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and UX to design and build solutions that delight users and solve critical business problems

• Communicate complex problems and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Collaborate across engineering teams on large-scale initiatives to further Procore's goal to connect everyone in construction on one global platform

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, a related field, or comparable work experience

• Experience developing in Ruby is required 

• 8+ years experience in Object Oriented Program fundamentals, Test Driven Development and Design principles

• Experience designing and building software in a service-oriented architecture

• Experience maintaining and developing APIs through REST or GraphQL

• Experience with frontend development using ReactStrong experience documenting and bringing team clarity to complex solutions

• Expertise with modern web development across the entire spectrum of development, testing, staging, deploying, and monitoring

• A curious mind that is driven to innovate and solve customer problems
