Job Description

Procore is looking for a Senior Director, Design to help us transform the construction industry by inspiring future-facing solutions that simplify complex business processes and drive richer collaboration across stakeholders on a construction project.

As Senior Director, Design you will lead a team of talented UX designers toward designing customer-centric solutions that radically improve existing functionality and propose design solutions for filling in gaps in our current product. As a member of the Product Design leadership team, you will be a fierce advocate for quality design and a bold voice that drives commitment towards creating elegant solutions for our customers. You’ll also partner with Product, Engineering, and UX leaders to develop and execute our strategy. This position will report to our VP of Product Design and be based in Austin, Texas. We’re looking for someone to join us immediately.

What you’ll do:

  • Work with key leaders to develop and prioritized business objectives and key results

  • Inspire and support your team of designers in creating industry-changing, customer-centric solutions that boldly push the envelope of what technology can do

  • Build a world-class enterprise UX team through leading, developing, and hiring highly-talented designers 

  • Serve as an internal thought leader and key facilitator of the design process by leading with a design system centered approach to building experiences

  • Balance design forward-thinking with approachability by designing easy-to-use, human-centered experiences that appeal to a broad audience 

  • Gather and analyze qualitative and quantitative insights to inform design decisions

  • As a mentor and coach to designers, you will give and receive feedback that improves design outcomes and fosters learning. You will create the right circumstances and conditions for the design to deliver value, and for individuals to create meaningful, career-defining work

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s preferred in graphic design, HCI, UX, a related area of study, or equivalent work experience

  • 8+ years of experience building and delivering successful B2B and/or Consumer products at scale

  • Prior design management experience in a collaborative environment, with a track record of managing effective design teams

  • Ability to seamlessly flip between the language of business and design, setting meaningful goals and objectives for your team, while advocating for important design decisions to company leadership

  • History of diving into the analytics of your work to help justify your hypothesis. Everything is an experiment

  • You have the ability to recognize great design work and inspire others to achieve higher levels of excellence

  • A strong example of a servant leader, deploying your team in a way that shares decision making, encourages ownership and autonomy, and drives engagement

  • Deep understanding of user-centric problem solving, design thinking, and the full-cycle of the product development process. Your knowledge is rooted in experience as an expert practitioner of multiple design disciplines, which may include: service design, user experience design, interaction design, information architecture, user interface design, visual design, research and others

  • Relentlessly focused on data and optimization while also being empathic and deeply passionate about connecting with our current and future customers

  • Must have experience with modern interface design tooling including but not limited to Figma, Principle, Flinto, etc

Additional Information

Base Pay Range $255,840 - $351,780. Eligible for Bonus Incentive Compensation. Eligible for Equity Compensation. Procore is committed to offering competitive, fair, and commensurate compensation, and has provided an estimated pay range for this role. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate’s job-related skills, experience, education or training, and location.
