We’re looking for a Mobile Director, Software Engineering to join Procore’s Product & Technology Team. Procore’s software solutions aim to improve the lives of everyone in construction and the people within Product & Technology are the driving force behind our innovative, top-rated global platform. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for establishing the strategic technical direction and actively driving the execution of the strategy across many areas of our Android and iOS apps.

As a Mobile Director, you’ll partner with Engineering, Product Management, Design, and Architects to lead development of software that helps improve how our customers use Procore on their mobile devices on the jobsite. Use your leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills to build highly effective systems and practices, foster collaborative relationships, and measure value delivered to our customers.

This position reports into the Senior Director, Software Engineering and will be based in our Cairo, Egypt office. We’re looking for someone to join us immediately.

What you’ll do:

• Shape and drive the mobile innovation strategy to anticipate and meet evolving customer needs, ensuring alignment with Procore’s broader product vision and long-term business objectives.

• Collaborate with executive leadership to define organizational goals, influence strategic decisions, and guide the evolution of mobile architecture, platform capabilities, and long-term technical direction.

• Provide senior technical and organizational leadership, guiding cross-functional collaboration with Product, UX, and Platform teams to define multi-year roadmaps, mobilize resources, and deliver high-impact mobile initiatives at scale.

• Develop, mentor, and grow engineering managers and senior engineers, fostering a high-performance culture, supporting career progression, and ensuring teams are equipped to deliver both technical excellence and measurable business value.

• Champion engineering productivity across the organization, setting strategy for internal tools, automation, and process improvements that reduce developer toil and accelerate time-to-market.

• Oversee mobile infrastructure and tooling investments, analyzing usage and scaling patterns to optimize cost efficiency while ensuring reliability and performance for all development teams.

• Evaluate and set direction for emerging mobile technologies, frameworks, and architectural patterns, establishing technical standards and guiding adoption across multiple mobile teams and products.

• Ensure Procore’s mobile ecosystem meets world-class performance standards, directing efforts to identify and resolve systemic performance bottlenecks across diverse devices, platforms, and customer environments.
   

What we're looking for: 

• 10+ years of overall software engineering experience, with deep technical expertise across mobile application development, mobile platform architecture, and large-scale system design.

• 5+ years of engineering leadership experience, including managing and developing multiple teams and managers across distributed locations and time zones.

• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience), with strong foundations in software engineering, systems design, and mobile technologies.

• Proven track record of leading high-performing mobile engineering organizations, including platform, infrastructure, and application teams, within complex or fast-scaling product environments.

• Extensive experience scaling mobile platforms, including build systems, mobile CI/CD, release pipelines, developer tooling, and performance instrumentation—ensuring reliability, velocity, and cost efficiency at scale.

• Demonstrated ability to drive large, cross-organization initiatives, shaping technical direction, aligning stakeholders, and improving both engineering velocity and product quality.

• Hands-on leadership mindset, with the willingness and ability to dive deep into complex technical challenges, while balancing strategic decision-making and organizational guidance.

• Strong passion for mobile technology, development tooling, platform engineering, and ecosystem trends, with the ability to translate industry advancements into actionable organizational strategies.
