We’re looking for a Software Engineering Manager to join Procore’s Quality & Safety organization. In this role, you’ll lead the Safety Insights & Compliance and Q&S Tool Permissions teams. The primary goal of this role is to deliver scalable, high-quality improvements to the critical tools our customers use to get their work done safely.
As a Software Engineering Manager at Procore, you will lead the Safety Insights & Compliance and Q&S Tool Permissions teams within the Quality & Safety (Q&S) domain. You’ll partner closely with Product Managers, UX designers, Platform Architects, and Software Engineers to deliver improvements to some of the most critical tools our customers use to get their work done safely.
This position reports to a Director of Software Engineering and will be based in our Cairo, Egypt office. We’re looking for candidates to join our team immediately!
What you’ll do:
AI is central to how we work. You’ll be expected to master generative tools and agentic workflows, moving beyond just using AI to actively building the agentic future of construction.
Own and lead the strategic direction, execution, and delivery for the Safety Insights & Compliance and Q&S Tool Permissions teams, ensuring solutions meet the evolving safety and governance needs of the construction industry.
Partner closely with Product Management, UX, and cross-functional stakeholders to define product roadmaps, break down complex requirements into milestones, and align technical strategies with Procore's business goals.
Manage, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers across the stack (Ruby on Rails, React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL), fostering a culture of ownership, openness, innovation, and technical excellence.
Ensure the delivery of scalable, high-quality, and compliant solutions, emphasizing system stability, high performance, security, and exceptional user experience.
Drive engineering best practices and Agile methodologies across all phases of the software development lifecycle, ensuring high-quality releases and technical predictability.
What we’re looking for:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
8+ years of total software engineering experience with strong fundamentals in Object-Oriented Programming, Test-Driven Development, and System Design.
2+ years of experience in direct engineering management or technical leadership, with a track record of leading high-performing software development teams.
Hands-on technical background working with Ruby on Rails, React/JS, TypeScript, and modern Service-Oriented Architecture / Microservices.
Proven track record of shipping scalable, high-quality customer-facing software while anticipating technical risks and managing dependencies across complex systems.
Strong mentoring and coaching skills with a passion for driving career growth and building collaborative team culture.
Deep familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and delivery tooling (Jira, Confluence).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to distill complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders across time zones.
