DroneDeploy, the robotics and visual intelligence platform for the built world that is used on over 3 million jobsites across more than 180 countries, is now a part of Procore Technologies Inc., the global provider of construction management software. As a leader in reality capture and robotic automation, DroneDeploy delivers the visual intelligence that bridges the built world—from active construction sites to operational assets—and the digital world, providing critical, real-time visibility into daily operations.
Procore Technologies is the leading technology partner for every stage of construction. We empower construction teams to drive efficiency and mitigate risk through actionable AI & data-driven insights. For over 20 years, we have been transforming the industry with purpose-built solutions for construction professionals and we’re looking for talented people to help us build together.
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to lead execution on our core photogrammetry pipeline—the 3D reconstruction stack at the heart of our platform. As the Staff Photogrammetry Engineer on our Computer Vision team, you will work closely with computer vision leadership and cross-functional engineering teams to drive execution, set the technical bar, grow a team, and ship the work that moves the product. Your strengths in production photogrammetry at scale, hands-on 3D computer vision systems engineering, and technical mentorship will drive your success.
You will report to the Director of Computer Vision and will be based in Bay Area, CA or Austin, TX. Travel: Occasional travel (approximately 2–3 times per year) for team and company offsites, technical planning sessions, and in-person collaboration.
What You’ll Do
AI tooling: Daily use of advanced AI coding agents (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, or comparable tools) is an expected part of this role. You will be responsible for defining and refining how these tools are used on the team—authoring reusable skills and workflows, evaluating new tools against real problems, and holding agent-generated code to the same standard as human-written code.
Lead the design, evaluation, and deployment of our production photogrammetry pipeline—feature detection and matching, structure from motion, multi-view stereo, monocular depth estimation, mesh reconstruction, and the supporting infrastructure that makes them work at scale to power data-driven insights.
Drive integration and evaluation of newer 3D reconstruction approaches (gaussian splats, foundation 3D models like MASt3R / VGGT-class and successors) where they provide concrete performance and quality improvements.
Optimize 3D systems for speed, accuracy, and robustness at production scale using classical 3D computer vision and learned approaches as appropriate to ensure high availability for customers.
Own the hardest technical investigations end-to-end, from initial triage through production rollout and long-tail support, establishing high reliability standards.
Set the technical bar and production observability standards (KPIs, instrumentation, metrics, logs, dashboards, alerts) for photogrammetry, catching data-quality issues early.
Mentor engineers on the team, take on 1–2 direct reports in your first year, and expand your people leadership scope as the sub-team grows.
Translate strategic direction into shipped work in tight partnership with CV leadership, sequencing work effectively and proactively communicating timeline risks.
Reshape how the team uses AI across the SDLC by authoring reusable skills, agent prompts, and debugging playbooks to empower the organization and scale engineering output.
What You Bring
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, with 7+ years of professional experience in 3D Computer Vision or 3D Machine Learning.
Proven track record building, shipping, and operating production photogrammetry or 3D reconstruction pipelines under scale and customer load.
Deep technical capability across the 3D perception toolkit, including at least three of: feature detection and matching, SfM, MVS, monocular depth estimation, mesh reconstruction, mesh texturing, or SLAM.
Practical experience with agentic development workflows, AI coding tools, and modern ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, or equivalent) to accelerate software delivery.
Demonstrated experience setting technical direction, mentoring engineers, and a clear trajectory toward formal people leadership.
Strong proficiency in C++ for performance-critical paths, cloud processing platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical investigations clearly to cross-functional stakeholders and leadership.
Strong-fit Background Might Include
Senior or Lead Computer Vision Engineer (3D Focus)
Photogrammetry Software Pipeline Architect
Spatial Computing / 3D Reconstruction Systems Engineer
Autonomous Systems / SLAM Perception Specialist
