At Procore Technologies, we’re not just focused on revolutionizing the construction industry. We’re also focused on nurturing talent and fostering growth opportunities for our employees. From legal to sales, to engineering, to any role on any team, Procore provides a foundation for individuals to thrive in their careers and make meaningful contributions to the success of the company. That’s what brings people here and inspires them to stay.

Marlene's Journey: Embracing Challenges & Seizing Opportunity

Marlene, our vice president and associate general counsel of global employment, litigation, and compliance and ethics, found her way to Procore during a tumultuous time at the height of the pandemic in 2020. She was brought on as our first employment law counsel, which was a significant change from her previous roles. What made her say yes to Procore?

“Opportunity is what I saw. Not only for career growth but also to help build a world-class organization around a market-leading product.

When I said yes to Procore, I said yes to challenges, to problem-solving, to pinch-hitting as needed, all because I believe in Procore’s potential and because young companies must be shaped into the great companies of tomorrow. That is what we do at Procore—we build.

After nearly four years at Procore, I continue to be excited about the opportunity. I have been promoted to a VP role, and my responsibilities have expanded to include ethics, compliance and commercial litigation. My perspective is not only heard but invited. I am valued as an input in the decision-making process. I can say, without hesitation, that I am happy I made the decision to join Procore.”

Madison's Rise: From Sales Development Representative to Manager

The career trajectory of Madison, a manager on our sales development team, is a testament to Procore’s investment in employee development. Starting as a sales development representative (SDR) in 2019, Madison honed her skills in market analysis and effective communication. It was her role as an SDR that she attributes to her career growth and the opportunities of both career advancement and financial reward that motivate her to continue building her sales career at Procore.

“Coming into Procore as an SDR gave me the foundational skills to do just about any job. As an SDR, you learn how to find and identify your target market and how to position what you are selling in the best possible way based on who you are talking to. Being an SDR taught me grit and empathy. It’s honestly one of the hardest jobs out there. It set me up to want to give it my all and go after the career growth I wanted.

I can confidently say that if I give my all to Procore, there will always be an opportunity for Procore to give back to me. Any time someone says to me, ‘You have to achieve X so that you can potentially get Y,’ I strive for it. Whether it’s a financial reward or career development, I feel like there is always a carrot here for me to go after. And I love that.”

Al's Return: Embracing Procore's Unique Culture

For Al, Procore’s culture was the driving force behind his decision to return to Procore as a ‘boomerang employee.’ After a successful career as a basketball player, he came to Procore to build his sales career. When offered a managing director role elsewhere, he was hard-pressed to say no. During the next 18 months, he gained valuable leadership experience that, as it turned out, he was able to bring back to Procore when the right opportunity came up. Al returned to Procore in 2022 as a manager on our SDR team. What brought him back?

“Culture was the biggest motivator for coming back. There wasn’t anything wrong with other places I worked at, but once you’ve been a part of the Procore culture, nothing compares. Amazing culture is like oxygen. You never really think about it, but you notice it the moment it’s gone. It’s things like the willingness of others to just check on me as a person and employee that I feel encouraged and motivated, how folks treat each other, and how talented and hard-working people are here. It’s easy to beat a job on income or title, but culture is hard to beat.”
