Staff Software Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a staff Engineer to join Procore Spatial data Organization. In this role, you will design, development, and support of location-aware experiences within Procore products. Your work will positively impact the entire spectrum of construction operations from tracking progress by location, communicating logistics, to managing resources within a map-based experience. You will improve the life of construction workers and contractors by enabling complex workflows and processes into simple and intuitive location-based experiences on mobile and web interfaces.

The spatial data organization mission is to unlock productivity gains for construction workers and contractors by enabling spatially aware experiences in Procore products. The organization currently consists of Maps and Location teams. Teams support stakeholders/customers worldwide. This position is for Bangalore location.

What we are looking for

• 10+ years of combined experience as a Software Engineer with an emphasis on building scalable web-based software solutions
• Experience in working with React, , Postgres, Java, , Ruby on Rails and Service-Oriented Architecture is required. Experience in Kubernetes, Kafka and related web infrastructure technologies preferred but not required.
• Experience in working with software, platforms, and infrastructure at scale and demonstrated experience in leading/contributing to large engineering initiative or technology change
• Understanding the tradeoffs between short-term and long-term goals and balancing immediate needs with strategic initiatives
• Strong experience documenting and bringing team clarity to complex solutions.
• Excellent debugging skills, with their attendant patience, grit, and creativity.
• BS or MS degree in Computer Science, related discipline, or equivalent experience

What you would do

• Design, develop and maintain Procore's spatial based experiences.
• Perform on-call duty rotation (of one week duration)
• Conduct code reviews and design reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers
• Collaborate with product, design and customer support teams to disambiguate requirements and propose simple/innovative solution that meet business/customer needs.
• Experience working within and leading through influence on global technical teams
• Influence team and organization 1-year and 3-year technical strategy
