We're looking for a Principal Product Manager to join Procore's Product & Technology organization, supporting our Procore Pay business. In this role, you'll identify, size, and validate the next set of markets and segments for Procore's Compliance and Payments products, turning early signals into fully formed strategies backed by evidence. Your primary goal is to determine where Procore Pay can win next — and to prove product-market fit in those markets before we scale investment behind them.
As a Principal Product Manager, you'll partner with Engineering, UX, Product Marketing, Sales, Finance, Risk & Compliance, and Payments leadership to move opportunities from a hypothesis to a funded, launched, revenue-generating product line. Use your opportunity assessment and market sizing rigor, customer discovery expertise, and ability to operate independently in ambiguity to expand the Procore Pay product and open new revenue streams for Procore. This is a rare chance to shape a strategically critical, high-growth part of Procore's business with real autonomy and executive visibility — apply today.
This position reports into the Director of Product Management, Procore Pay and will be based in our Austin, TX office. We're looking for someone to join us immediately.
What you'll do:
Lead opportunity assessments for new markets and segments, sizing the opportunity and making a clear, defensible recommendation on whether and how Procore should enter.
Validate product-market fit for existing Procore Pay capabilities in new markets, defining the discovery plan, entry criteria, and evidence required before we commit resources.
Craft the vision, opportunity assessments, and product briefs for your area, explaining the "why" with sound logic that holds up to executive scrutiny.
Take large, ambiguous strategic initiatives and break them into logical, sequenced phases that deliver value to customers along the way.
Lead discovery with customers, prospects, and industry participants, facilitating workshops with department leaders and directors and synthesizing findings into actionable insights.
Partner with Engineering and UX as a peer leader to translate market strategy into requirements, anticipating risk factors across outcome potential, competitive landscape, technical feasibility, and user experience.
Drive go-to-market readiness with Marketing, Sales, Enablement, Support, Risk, and Compliance, designing release plans that generate fast learning through pilots and betas.
Define initiative-level customer and business outcomes, track progress against them, and communicate results in a compelling way across Procore.
Mentor product managers and contribute to hiring panels, raising the bar for product craft across the team.
What we're looking for:
7+ years of product management or equivalent experience, including ownership of a large or strategically important product area.
Demonstrated track record of new market or new product entry: taking a small, unproven idea and developing it into a funded, launched, revenue-generating initiative.
Expertise in opportunity assessment, market sizing, and product-market fit validation, with the judgment to recommend against an opportunity when the evidence doesn't support it.
Expert command of discovery techniques through customer interviews, market and competitive analysis, prototype testing, and the ability to synthesize findings into trends others can act on.
Strong quantitative skills, with the ability to pull and analyze data independently and combine it with qualitative insight to make high-leverage decisions quickly.
Proven ability to work autonomously amid significant ambiguity, serving as the connective tissue when ownership is unclear and biasing toward forward progress.
Excellent written and verbal communication, with a history of building buy-in among senior stakeholders across multiple functions without formal authority.
Construction Compliance, Payments, fintech, or B2B marketplace experience strongly preferred; construction industry experience is a plus.
Base Pay Range:
198,240.00 - 272,580.00 USD AnnualThis role may also be eligible for Equity Compensation and/or Bonus Incentive Compensation.
