We’re looking for a Manager, Security Engineering to join Procore’s Security Engineering team. In this role, you will lead a dedicated team of Security Engineers focused on the execution of our security roadmap. Your primary goal is to ensure the successful delivery of foundational security controls that protect our platform, data, and users.

As a Manager, Security Engineering, you will act as a bridge between high-level security strategy and technical implementation. You’ll partner with peer teams in Product, Engineering, IT and Security to embed security into the development lifecycle, providing the technical mentorship and project leadership necessary to keep your team high-performing and aligned with Procore’s security standards. This position reports into the Senior Director, Security Engineering and will be based in our Austin, TX- office. We’re looking for someone to join us immediately.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and coach a team of security engineers, conducting regular 1-on-1s, performance reviews, and career development planning.

  • Oversee the team’s sprints and quarterly objectives, ensuring the timely delivery of projects like attack surface management, identity governance, and IaC security.

  • Act as a "player-coach" by participating in technical design reviews and providing guidance on automated security solutions.

  • Maintain and optimize the team’s operational roadmap, removing day-to-day roadblocks and managing task prioritization.

  • Partner with Product & Technology teams at the functional level to drive the adoption of "secure-by-default" paved paths.

  • Work with GRC and Internal Audit to ensure the team’s engineering outputs meet specific regulatory requirements and control objectives.

  • Foster a team environment rooted in automation, shipping security solutions as code, and continuous learning.

What we’re looking for:

  • 5+ years in a technical security role, with 2+ years of experience in a formal people leadership or team lead capacity.

  • A solid foundation in security domains such as product security, IAM, data protection, and infrastructure/cloud security.

  • Experience with cloud environments (AWS preferred), IaC (Terraform), and containerization (Kubernetes) to effectively guide engineer-level work.

  • Proven ability to take a high-level roadmap and break it down into achievable technical tasks for an engineering team.

  • Strong ability to communicate technical progress and risks to senior leadership and cross-functional partners.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or equivalent practical experience.

Additional Information

Base Pay Range:

168,560.00 - 231,770.00 USD Annual

This role may also eligible for Equity Compensation. Procore is committed to offering competitive, fair, and commensurate compensation, and has provided an estimated pay range for this role. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate’s job-related skills, experience, education or training, and location.
