Job Description

We’re looking for a Director of Executive Communications – People & Finance to join Procore’s Executive Communications team. In this role, you’ll be the dedicated, strategic communications partner to the Chief People Officer (CPO) and the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Your primary goal is to define and drive the executive communications strategy for both leaders and their departments, ensuring their vision and key messages are clearly articulated to all stakeholders.

As a Director of Executive Communications – Finance & People, you’ll partner with the CPO, CFO, the People organizations and Finance to manage high-stakes internal communications, including quarterly earnings support, town halls, and enterprise-wide messaging, while leading strategy for select external thought leadership. Use your executive counsel skills, narrative crafting ability, and expertise in complex financial/talent topics to foster an informed, engaged workforce and elevate the company's reputation in financial stewardship and talent management. This position reports to the VP, Communications and will be based in Austin, but we are open to other remote locations for the right candidate. We’re looking for someone to join us immediately.

What You’ll Do:

  • Executive Communications Partner: Serve as the primary, trusted communications advisor to the CFO and CPO, developing and executing their end-to-end executive communications strategy across all internal and external platforms.

  • Strategic Internal Communications: Design and drive the internal communications strategy for the Finance and People organizations, partnering closely with Chiefs of Staff and People Partners to manage sensitive topics & organizational changes, craft compelling content for Town Halls, and department-wide updates to ensure clarity and engagement.

  • Enterprise-Wide Communications: Lead the development of major enterprise wide communications that are authored by the CFO and CPO such as scripting for quarterly Procore All Hands, EVS Town Halls, post earnings readouts, and more. 

  • Enterprise Message Translation: Align with Employee Communications to ensure consistency from enterprise wide through department specific communications, translating enterprise-wide business updates (such as our annual strategy) into relevant, nuanced messaging for both the Finance and People teams.

  • Executive Preparedness: Prepare the CFO and CPO for high-profile internal and external speaking engagements, managing the development of presentations, talking points, Q&As, and written communications.

  • External Thought Leadership: Lead the strategy and execution of select external thought leadership platforms for the CFO and CPO (e.g., industry conferences, media engagement, investor content), ensuring message consistency with Procore’s corporate narrative in partnership with PR and Investor Relations.

  • Communications Governance: Lead the development and management of departmental editorial calendars and project plans, ensuring timely, coordinated, and aligned messaging across all internal channels. Collaborate closely with the Enterprise Employee Communications team to maintain consistency and connection between enterprise and departmental communications.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 10+ years of progressive communications experience, with a significant focus on executive and internal communications, preferably within a publicly traded or high-growth technology company.

  • Experience across both internal and external communications channels.

  • Proven expertise advising and supporting C-level executives (specifically CFOs and/or CPOs) with confidence, discretion, and strong executive presence.

  • Deep understanding of financial, HR, and/or organizational design concepts and the ability to simplify complex or sensitive information into clear, audience-appropriate narratives.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a portfolio demonstrating high-quality, executive-level speechwriting, presentation development, and ghostwriting.

  • Strategic thinker with outstanding execution skills and meticulous attention to detail; adept at anticipating needs and proactively managing stakeholder expectations.

  • Strong project management and organizational capabilities, skilled at balancing competing, high-priority demands across two distinct functional areas.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and build strong relationships with cross-functional partners (e.g., Legal, Investor Relations, PR, Leadership Teams).

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience; willingness to travel occasionally (~10-15%).

Additional Information

Base Pay Range $172,000 - $236,500. Eligible for Bonus Incentive Compensation. Eligible for Equity Compensation. Procore is committed to offering competitive, fair, and commensurate compensation, and has provided an estimated pay range for this role. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate’s job-related skills, experience, education or training, and location.
