Job Description

We are looking for a results-driven, strategically-focused Senior Manager, Legal Operations - Business & Finance to join Procore’s Legal, Regulatory & Compliance (LRC) Department. This is a leadership role with a dual mission: to expertly manage LRC’s core business operations while helping to guide the department’s evolution in an AI-centric era.

As a key strategic partner to the VP of Legal Operations, you will be a central figure in driving the department's effectiveness and financial performance, with analysis and recommendations that will regularly inform LRC’s Leadership Team. You’ll ensure that our financial and resource strategies not only support but accelerate LRC’s transformation, working alongside our legal tech team and department leadership,  while managing a small team. This role is for a versatile leader who has seen what excellence looks like at scale and is driven by a healthy disdain for the status quo. You will be empowered to both successfully navigate the complexities of the present and build a more efficient, data-driven future.

As a Senior Manager, Legal Operations, you will be a key member of the Legal Operations team, working closely with various internal stakeholders, including LRC, Finance, IT, Procurement, HR, and other internal operations leaders. If you are a proactive leader and culture-carrier who thrives on developing talent and shaping a vital business function, we want to hear from you.

This position reports to our Vice President, Legal Operations. This role can be remote or based in one of Procore’s U.S.-based office locations.

What You'll Drive & Do:

  • Drive LRC’s Financial Strategy: Lead the end-to-end legal financial lifecycle, providing strategic recommendations that shape critical financial decisions and deliver actionable insights that directly influence organizational growth and operational excellence.

  • Modernize our Outside Counsel & Vendor Management Ecosystem: Steer our sourcing strategy to prioritize value, efficiency, and innovation, including evaluating firms on their technology maturity and championing the shift towards outcome-based Alternative Fee Arrangements (AFAs).

  • Translate complex spend, vendor, and project data into clear, compelling narratives for LRC leadership by evolving the caliber of financial reports and dashboards.

  • Champion Tech-Enabled Operational Excellence: Proactively identify, design, and build the business case for process improvements across all financial and vendor-related workflows, with a focus on leveraging technology to drive outcomes.

  • Serve as a Trusted Business Partner & Change Agent: Leverage your expertise and diplomatic presence as a primary liaison to key partners in Finance and serve as a consultant to internal legal leaders up to and including the Chief Legal Officer, helping them reimagine their teams' approaches through data and process innovation.

  • Lead and Develop Your Team: Manage and mentor a small team of Legal Operations professionals (in Vendor Management and Project Management), fostering a culture consistent with our corporate and departmental values.

  • Lead or support additional LRC projects as needed, applying your operational rigor to a variety of strategic departmental initiatives.

What You'll Bring:

  • 10+ years of extensive experience in Legal Operations (ideally at a SaaS or other high-growth technology company), with deep expertise in legal financial management and mastery in law department budgeting, forecasting, accruals, and spend analytics, with a focus on ROI and value rather than just cost.

  • Proven experience as a people manager, with a passion for coaching, developing talent, and leading by example.

  • Tech-Forward and AI-Fluent Mentality: You are passionate about AI as an amplifier and are comfortable with the iterative nature of experimentation—including the learning that comes from both success and failure.

  • Owner's Mindset with Humble Confidence: You combine a proactive, accountable work ethic with a service-oriented and humble approach to partnership and leadership.

  • Exceptional communication and influence skills in translating complex financial information for legal audiences and effectively advocating for your recommendations to business stakeholders at all levels.

  • High EQ and unwavering integrity to handle sensitive financial and performance discussions with professionalism, demonstrating discretion and impeccable judgment.
