We are seeking a VP, Corporate Strategy to define, develop, and drive the long-term vision and strategic direction of the company. This role acts as a trusted advisor to the CEO and the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), translating market insights and competitive analysis into actionable strategies that ensure sustainable growth, market leadership, and competitive advantage. The VP of Corporate Strategy oversees the formal strategic planning process and spearheads major cross-functional initiatives.

The VP, Corporate Strategy reports to the Head of Corporate Strategy and Operations and will ideally be based in our Austin, TX office. We’re looking for someone to join us immediately. 

What you’ll do:

Strategic Planning & Vision

  • Lead the Corporate Strategic Planning Cycle: Own and orchestrate the annual and multi-year corporate strategy planning process, including the articulation of the company's vision, mission, strategic pillars, and measurable objectives.

  • Market & Competitive Intelligence: Conduct deep-dive analysis into industry trends, disruptive technologies, macroeconomic factors, and competitor strategies (e.g., using frameworks like SWOT and Porter's Five Forces) to identify new growth platforms and business risks.

  • Scenario Planning: Develop and model various business scenarios to guide major capital allocation and investment decisions.

Growth & Corporate Development

  • Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Strategy: Work with the Corporate Development team to define and prioritize M&A targets that align with the long-term strategic plan, including identifying potential acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.

  • Growth Initiative Leadership: Initiate, sponsor, and lead complex, cross-functional strategic projects (e.g., new product entry, international expansion, digital transformation) from ideation through successful execution.

  • Business Case Development: Establish a standardized methodology for developing, testing, and prioritizing business cases for major initiatives, including financial modeling, investment analysis, and assessing projected ROI.

Executive Collaboration & Communication

  • Executive Advisor: Serve as an internal consultant and thought partner to the CEO, CFO, and other C-level executives on high-stakes business issues and performance challenges.

  • Board & Stakeholder Engagement: Prepare and present concise, data-driven strategic updates to the Board of Directors and key external stakeholders (e.g., investors, partners).

  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with business unit VPs (e.g., Sales, Product, Finance, Operations) to ensure departmental strategies and resource allocations are directly aligned with the overarching corporate strategy.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Corporate Strategy team, fostering a culture of rigorous analysis, intellectual curiosity, and clear communication.

What we’re looking for:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate strategy, strategic planning, or management consulting (preferably from a top-tier firm).

  • 5+ years in a senior leadership or management role, leading strategy development and execution for a complex, multi-functional organization.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field.

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) or other relevant advanced degree is strongly preferred

  • Exceptional Analytical Acumen: Proven ability to synthesize complex, disparate data into clear, actionable strategic insights and comfortable with advanced financial modeling and valuation techniques.

  • Strategic Vision and Critical Thinking: Demonstrated ability to connect operational details to the long-term corporate vision and develop innovative solutions to market challenges.

  • Executive Communication & Influence: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively to executive leadership, the Board, and external partners.

  • Change Management: Experience in driving large-scale organizational change and securing cross-functional buy-in for new strategic directions.

Additional Information

Base Pay Range:

260,800.00 - 358,600.00 USD Annual
