Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Product Documentation Technical Writer to author, edit, and/or review Procore product documentation content and backlog requests.
In this role, you’ll monitor and fulfill content requests via Jira Service Desk Tickets as well as develop new content based on planned product releases. You’ll research and translate technical information into knowledge articles and/or web-based content for both nontechnical and technical users.
You’ll plan, develop, create, write and edit operational, instructional, maintenance and/or test product content. You may also produce content for embedded user assistance as well as engineering processes and specifications. You recommend formats responsive to technical and customer requirements and produce content that conform to the company documentation and quality assurance standards.

You have proven, strong writing skills and the ability to synthesize technical content from a subject matter expert and create content that clearly explains the topics and tasks to end-users based on their persona.
This position reports into the Manager, Documentation and will be based remotely out of Procore’s Bengaluru, India Office. We’re looking for someone to join us immediately.
What you’ll do:
Create user guides, tutorials, FAQs, diagrams, technical overviews, and in-product help content
Test both the product and its documentation for accuracy and consistency
Develop relationships with Product Managers and stakeholders for assigned tools
Work on inbound content request tickets via Jira Service Desk
Adapt rapidly to a changing industry and be able to adjust responsibilities, time, and objectives accordingly
Use a content management system (CMS) to manage the lifecycle of technical documentation including draft, review, and publish phases
Become a subject matter expert of the Procore platform and how the different tools are used to perform various construction-related tasks
Maintain regular communication and synchronization with the Manager of Documentation
Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to address and resolve specific issues
What we’re looking for:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in English, Technical Communication, or other writing capacity (in English)
2+ years experience working as a Technical Writer or similar job role
Ability to analyze and synthesize complex content
Excellent writing and proofreading skills, including Plain English
Experience with a content management system (CMS) and familiarity with xml or markup language
Strong technical aptitude with an ability to quickly learn new concepts and tools
Ability to write clearly and succinctly for multiple audiences using either formal or more casual tones
Excellent work ethic and strong intellectual curiosity, ability to work quickly, efficiently, and multi-task
Track record of effective collaboration with various stakeholders in a fast-paced, work environment
Work samples required.
