We’re looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join Procore’s Product & Technology Team. Procore software solutions aim to improve the lives of everyone in construction and the people within Product & Technology are the driving force behind our innovative, top-rated global platform. We’re a customer-centric group that encompasses engineering, product, product design and data, security and business systems.
In this Principal Software Engineering role, you’ll create robust integrations connecting Procore to industry leading third party platforms. You’ll partner with product management, UX, and internal and external engineering teams to create meaningful integrations with Procore that simplify key workflows for our customers. Use your technical expertise in APIs and integrations, ability to influence others, and tenacity to finish the job to build, maintain, and operate the strategic integrations that Procore’s customers require.

What you’ll do:
Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable integrations between Procore and third party applications
Collaborate with leaders across engineering, product management, and UX to understand strategic objectives and align technology solutions to business goals
Be hands-on in our codebase 40-60% and work as a force-multiplier in our engineering organization by guiding and mentoring other engineers
Focus on driving consensus throughout our engineering teams and enable the education of our business partners via the generation of technical documentation and presentations that communicate architectural and design decisions
Champion best practices for software development (like Test Driven Development), code reviews, and operational monitoring
Build awareness, increase knowledge, and drive adoption of modern technologies, industry innovations, trends and architecture patterns, sharing customer and engineering benefits to gain buy-in
What we’re looking for:
Degree in Computer Science, a related field, or comparable work experience
12+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Test Driven Development and Design Principles for web and full stack applications at scale with distributed architectures
5+ years of experience building, maintaining, and operating integrations with 3rd party SaaS applications
5+ years of experience working with at least one of the following frameworks (Ruby on Rails, Nest.js, or React)
Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns, middleware frameworks, iPaaS platforms, and REST APIs
Commitment to engineering best practices, continuous software delivery, and operational excellence
Ability to drive collaboration with teammates, partners, and stakeholders to advance team goals
Experience in Agile software development methodologies (Scrum and Kanban)
